Happy Chinese New Year

February 8, 2017 Jacqueline Heng
rooster, chinese new year

Happy new year everyone!  We welcome the year of the Fire Rooster, the 10th animal sign of the Chinese zodiac.  I am glad to be ushering in the new year after a shenanigan year of the Monkey in 2016.  So what is in store for the coming year?

According to the zodiac sign, the Rooster symbolises ambition, pride, admiration, punctual, courage, and passion.  There will be honesty in relationships, increased passion in our profession and we will have the bravery to face difficulties and adversities. The Rooster can also be conservative and inflexible in changing ideas or life strategies.  So, weave in some flexibility and open your heart to change where necessary to flow with life ups and downs.  In terms of love, there will be fiery intense passion and can sometimes be overwhelming.  Be cautious not to be caught by this intensity, step back, take a breath and meditate to calm yourself down when it gets too much.

I am looking forward to the new year with more structure and courage to go after what I want in life.  However, I am also mindful that everything we do has a ripple effect on people and the environment.  So without being too overwhelmed with everything, I have come up with one word - BALANCE - that I would try to live by with life, love, work, social media and etc.

I hope the new year will bring good health, a prosperous life and joy to you and your love ones.
